- Water (optional) 1/4 cup, only if your slow cooker runs hot/dry —
Instructions
- Season pork all over with salt and pepper.
- Place in slow cooker (fat-cap up). Add 1/4 cup water only if needed for your slow cooker.
- Cook on LOW 8–10 hours (or HIGH 5–6) until it shreds easily.
- Shred with two forks. Optional: skim excess fat from the top before serving.
- Serve 2 hearty portions (about 10–12 oz cooked meat per person).
Health notes: Very high protein; higher fat depending on cut—skim/render fat if you want it leaner.
Drink pairing: Dry red wine (Zinfandel) or sparkling water.
