Slow-Cooker Salt & Pepper Pulled Pork (Meat-Only)

Ingredients

  • Pork Bone-In Boston Butt Shoulder Roast 2 lb (or as close as available) $2.49 sale
  • Salt 2 tsp (or to taste)
  • Black pepper 1 tsp (or to taste)
  • Water (optional) 1/4 cup, only if your slow cooker runs hot/dry

Instructions

  1. Season pork all over with salt and pepper.
  2. Place in slow cooker (fat-cap up). Add 1/4 cup water only if needed for your slow cooker.
  3. Cook on LOW 8–10 hours (or HIGH 5–6) until it shreds easily.
  4. Shred with two forks. Optional: skim excess fat from the top before serving.
  5. Serve 2 hearty portions (about 10–12 oz cooked meat per person).

Health notes: Very high protein; higher fat depending on cut—skim/render fat if you want it leaner.

Drink pairing: Dry red wine (Zinfandel) or sparkling water.
