Ingredients

  • Grapefruit 1, juiced (about 1/2–3/4 cup) $6.49/3 lb bag
  • Fresh Organic Lemon - each 1/2 lemon, juiced $1.69
  • Ginger Root (or Spice World peeled ginger) 1-inch piece, sliced $4.99/lb (ginger root listed)
  • Honey 1–2 tsp (to taste)
  • Water 2 cups
  • Pinch of salt tiny pinch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 cups water and sliced ginger to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Turn off heat. Stir in grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and honey to taste.
  3. Add a tiny pinch of salt if you want the citrus to taste ‘rounder.’
  4. Serve warm. (Optional: chill and serve over ice for a grapefruit-ginger refresher.)

Health notes: Vitamin C boost; keep sugar low by sweetening lightly (or not at all).

Drink pairing: This is the drink—pair with a simple salad or roast chicken.
